Job summary

Hockey Western New York, LLC is seeking an Events and Experience Intern to support the marketing department with fan engagement, events, and theme nights for the Buffalo Sabres and Bandits.

This part-time internship for the 2026-27 season offers hands-on experience in planning, promotions, and fan insights, with evening and weekend hours and a $16.00/hour wage.

Qualifications

• Pursuing or have a degree in Marketing, Event Management, Sport Management or a related field.
• Availability to work weeknights, weekends, gamedays and holidays as needed.
• Must possess strong communication skills, an outgoing and positive attitude and enjoy interaction with fans.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, work effectively under pressure and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
• Monthly Professional Development Workshops focused on department overviews, workplace skills, and industry insights.
• Mentorship Program with the option for interns to be paired with an organizational mentor for guidance and professional support.
• Job Shadowing Opportunities across departments to gain exposure to different roles and career paths.
• Career Preparation Resources: Resume reviews and mock interviews to strengthen job search and interviewing skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and execution of fan engagement initiatives and special events for the Buffalo Sabres and Buffalo Bandits 2026-27 season.
• Assist with event preparation including organizing supplies, maintaining inventory, and ensuring materials are ready for activations and promotions.
• Assist in the execution of gameday marketing promotions and activations – including fan giveaways, brand activations, promotional appearances, gameday events and vendor relations.
• Assist the Marketing department in executing campaigns and promotional plans.
• Assist the Fan Development Manager during focus groups to collect fan insights.
• Promote a positive fan experience and work as part of a creative team.
• Other duties as assigned.

The Events and Experience Intern will support the marketing department with a primary focus on fan engagement, fan events, and theme night/special game experiences. This position will assist in a wide range of activities related to the marketing and events operations of the Buffalo Sabres and Buffalo Bandits.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Assist in the planning and execution of various fan engagement initiatives and special events throughout the Buffalo Sabres and Buffalo Bandits 2026-27 season.
• Assist with event preparation including organizing supplies, maintaining inventory, and ensuring all materials are ready and available for activations and promotions.
• Assist in the execution of gameday marketing promotions and activations – including, but not limited to: fan giveaways, brand activations, promotional appearances, gameday events and vendor relations.
• Assist the Marketing department in executing campaigns and promotional plans

Compensation & Hours

This role pays $16.00 an hour. This is a part-time role and must have the flexibility to work extended hours, evenings, weekends and holidays. This is a temporary position for the 2026-2027 season.

Work Environment & Physical Demands.

This internship operates in both an office setting and in a live events setting. Live event coverage does consist of being around loud stadium noises and crowds.

Candidate must be able to perform physical tasks such as lifting and moving boxes up to 20 pounds.
