Position Overview
The Sales Manager, Venues is responsible for guiding customers through event experiences and identifying solutions that meet their goals, resulting in a compelling event experience. The role uses all available tools to ensure maximum event and revenue capture from the assigned customer base, cultivates and maintains relationships with key hotel personnel, and supports company initiatives, business strategies and core values. This position reports to a Sr. Sales Manager, Sales Director, or Director of Event Technology.
Revenue Generation
- Drive results by soliciting and securing business through a proactive, consultative sales approach, utilizing Encore’s sales process and methodology.
- Prepare and present quotes and proposals in a timely manner, including those submitted through www.encoreglobal.com, the venue booking system, or other sources.
- Collaborate with vendors and other departments to capture and service events.
- Attend site visits, pre‑conference planning meetings, and venue meetings as necessary to support the customer event experience.
- Understand event cost structure and incorporate it into solution designs according to established profitability guidelines.
Relationship Management
- Deliver world‑class service by cultivating and maintaining relationships with customers, venue personnel, and Encore support functions.
- Research and understand customer history and previous experiences to create personalized customer experiences.
- Value people by attending meetings, understanding their goals, and responding to their questions, concerns, and challenges.
- Ensure all customer information is up to date and accurate in the Customer Relationship Management system at all times.
- Actively refer and guide customers through the Encore network to secure additional opportunities.
Sales Accountability
- Maintain a healthy pipeline that ensures achievement of revenue targets.
- Ensure all opportunities are entered in CRM and remain accurate and updated.
- Support sales forecasting efforts at the home location, ensuring accuracy and timely submission.
- Learn and adopt all SOPs related to the role and new initiatives/programs.
- Maintain knowledge of new product and service offerings and emerging technology for meetings and events.
Job Qualifications
- BS/BA or 1+ years of Encore or equivalent experience required.
- 1 year of technology sales or hospitality experience preferred.
- Prior sales experience in audiovisual is a plus.
- Knowledge of hospitality industry and sales processes preferred.
- Technical aptitude and computer proficiency required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Work Environment
Work is performed in a hotel/convention center environment with moderate exposure to outdoor temperatures, dirt, sand, and dust. The working conditions vary between moderately quiet to noisy volumes. Team members may use high‑end audiovisual equipment, work with electrical components, and be exposed to heights via lifts and ladders. Multiple hotel locations and irregular hours, including on‑call status, may be required. Appearance guidelines must be adhered to as defined by Encore.
Salary
Salary Pay Range: $46,270.00 – $60,151.00. Final compensation is determined based on qualifications, location, travel, relevant work experience, or particular skills and expertise. Some positions may be eligible for overtime, bonuses, or incentives.
