Job summary

FIRST is a global brand experience agency seeking an Event Technician to represent the FIRST brand as an implanted team member for a major technology client. You will execute technical production for mid-level events, focusing on audio/visual, staging, lighting and design needs.

The role requires strong technical experience with event production systems and extensive A/V direction for corporate and live experiential events.

Qualifications

  • 2–4 years of experience in event production or live AV environments.
  • Strong understanding of audio visual tech including lighting, audio, video output and power.
  • Experience with Unilumen LED walls and WATCHOUT is a plus.
  • Familiar with Yamaha CL series, ETC Ion lighting desks, Ross Carbonite and PTZ controllers.
  • Proficient with QLab, Dante, Shure Wireless, and Crestron control systems.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills; ability to manage multiple projects under tight timelines.
  • Must be fluent in English and able to work on-site.

Responsibilities

  • Operate event production equipment including A/V, lighting, and staging for mid-level events.
  • Provide technical direction and ensure a seamless technology experience for attendees, press, and partners.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external clients to meet production needs.
  • Support on-site deployment of staging, A/V setup, and maintenance.
  • Perform video playback, live stream coordination, and multi-camera operation.
  • Edit video footage for client recordings and assist systems engineers with troubleshooting.

What You Would Get To Do

In this capacity, the ideal candidate would represent the FIRST brand as an implanted team member for a well-known technology company. The Event Technician will be responsible for executing the technical production for mid-level events requiring support with Audio/Video, staging, lighting and design needs. The role requires strong technical understanding and practical experience operating event production systems, with extensive experience in A/V and technical direction for both corporate events and live experiential events.


For events, the goal is to provide a seamless technology experience to all attendees, press and partners, as well as create an efficient and reliable technical environment for event staff and vendors. In this role you’ll work with internal teams as well as external clients and vendor partners on a daily basis.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities


  • Operate event production equipment including but not limited to Yamaha CL series audio desks, ETC lighting consoles, Ross Carbonite vision switchers, and PTZ camera controller

  • Provide feedback to facility Team Lead on event production equipment usage and efficiency including but not limited to Yamaha CL series audio desks, ETC lighting consoles, Ross Carbonite vision switchers, and PTZ camera controllers

  • Actively liaise with the event production Team Lead to provide feedback and suggestions on possible enhancements and improvements to the space

  • Identify to Team Lead new and alternative ways of approaching FIRST’s technical production offering to clients

  • Manage client expectations on production challenges, proactively providing solutions

  • Coordinate and support building of staging and A/V set up on-site as required

  • Perform day-to-day housekeeping and maintenance of a hi-tech conference venue

  • Provide full event production support including but not limited to forwarding slide decks, video playback, live stream coordination, graphic support, and multi camera operation

  • Basic editing of video footage to provide clients with recordings of their event

  • Coordinate with systems engineers on troubleshooting and incident resolution

  • Provide white glove customer service to clients and stakeholders

  • Perform regularly scheduled system maintenance checks to ensure all A/V equipment is working properly, in collaboration with the engineering team

  • Flex into operating other event production areas as skills and training allows

  • Position requires 2-4 year of experience

  • Full understanding of audio visual technology and advancements including lighting, audio/video output, and power

  • Experience with Unilumen LED walls and WATCHOUT software is a plus

  • Experience working with the following equipment / tools is helpful: Yamaha CL series audio desks; Adobe Premiere Pro & Creative Cloud Suite; Keynote; Google Workspace; ETC Ion lighting desk; Crestron Control systems, ROSS Carbonite and Ultrix vision systems, Panasonic PTZ camera controllers, Dante Controller, Shure Wireless Workbench, QLab, and Riedel Communication systems.

  • Proficient in the technical delivery of high-quality events

  • Video output experience with strong technical understanding of associated systems

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills are a must to build and maintain relationships

  • Ability to prioritize while adhering to critical project timelines in a fast-paced environment

  • Experience managing day-to-day changes at every level of detail

  • Ability to manage many projects at once with varying levels of production

  • Knowledge of PTZ cameras and controllers

  • Knowledge of livestream/ broadcasting (especially streaming to the internet)

  • Must be fluent in English

  • Ability to work onsite

  • This role will be assigned to a primary location but will require flexibility to be deployed to support across the campus as required

United States Residents:

The base pay for this position ranges from $63,143.00 - $72,614.00. This role is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and overtime compensation, in accordance with applicable policies.
