Harvard Maintenance, Inc. is seeking a Porter to assist with the setup, maintenance, and breakdown of event spaces.

The ideal candidate will ensure the area is clean, organized, and well-stocked to provide a seamless experience for guests and organizers. The role requires previous event/venue support experience, bilingual ability, and the stamina to lift up to 40 pounds, with flexibility for nights, weekends, and holidays based on event schedules.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the setup and breakdown of event spaces, including arranging tables, chairs, decorations, and equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the event venue during events; manage waste disposal and spill cleanup.
• Keep bathrooms and common areas clean and orderly.
• Replenish supplies in event spaces (napkins, water bottles, sanitizers, etc.).
• Monitor the event space during events and address maintenance needs promptly.
• Follow safety and health regulations, handling waste per policy.
• Report maintenance issues to appropriate personnel.

A day in the life:

The Porter will assist with the setup, maintenance, and breakdown of event spaces. The ideal candidate will ensure the event area is clean, organized, and well-stocked, providing a seamless experience for guests and event organizers.

What you’ll do as an Exceptional Team Member

• Assist with the setup and breakdown of event spaces, including arranging tables, chairs, decorations, and other necessary equipment.
• Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the event venue during the event by managing waste disposal and cleaning up spills or debris as needed.
• Maintain a clean and orderly environment in bathrooms, hallways, and other common areas.
• Replenish supplies in event spaces (e.g., napkins, water bottles, hand sanitizers, and other necessary items).
• Monitor the event space during the event, ensuring any cleaning or maintenance needs are addressed promptly.
• Ensure that all safety and health regulations are followed, including handling waste materials in accordance with company policies.
• Report any maintenance issues or damage to the appropriate personnel.

What you’ll need to be an Extraordinary Team Member

• Previous experience in event or venue support roles preferred.
• Must be bilingual
• Ability to handle physical tasks, including lifting up to 40 pounds.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work quickly under pressure.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Flexibility in working hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as event schedules require.

Schedule:

• Flexible hours, with evening and weekend availability required based on event schedules.
• Full-time or part-time opportunities available depending on event needs.
