Job summary

Elkhorn Shores Campground in Elkhorn, NE seeks energetic Event Parking Attendants for our seasonal schedule. You will be the first point of contact for thousands of visitors, guiding cars, greeting guests, and directing them to parking areas during our Haunted Season and Winter light events.

Shifts run 5:30 PM to 12:30 AM, mainly evenings and weekends, September through December. You must be 18+, able to stand for 4–7 hours outdoors, and communicate clearly over noise.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old and have reliable transportation.
• Evening, weekend, and late-night availability 5:30 PM–12:30 AM.
• Excellent customer service with ability to give clear verbal directions.
• Physically able to stand and work 4–7+ hours in outdoor conditions.
• Willingness to work outdoors in varying seasons.

Job Description: Event Parking Attendant

Position Type: Seasonal / Part-Time

Compensation: $15.00 – $17.00 per hour, DOE (Depending on Experience)

Reports To: Park Operations Manager & Parking Supervisor

Job Overview: Elkhorn Shores Campground is seeking energetic, reliable, and guest-focused Event Parking Attendants to join our seasonal team. As the first point of contact for thousands of visitors, you will play a critical role in managing traffic flow and greeting guests as they arrive for our events.

This role spans two of our busiest and most exciting times of the year:

• The Haunted Season (Autumn): Providing parking support and navigation for Bloodrush: Forest of Terror, Camp Fear, and the Nightmare Theater outdoor movie series.
• The Jolly Lights Holiday Event (Winter): Managing vehicle queuing and guest flow for our festive drive-through and walk-up holiday light experiences.

Schedule & Shift Information

Shift Times: Typical shifts range from 5:30 PM to 12:30 AM.

Days Required: Primarily evenings and weekends, including late-night hours on peak event days.

Seasonality: Positions run throughout the autumn haunted attractions season (September–October) and continue during thewinter holiday event (November–December)

Key Responsibilities

Traffic Control & Lot Management:

• Guide vehicles safely turning off West Maple Road down the venue access lanes past the soccer fields into the main event parking areas.
• Maximize parking lot capacity by efficiently directing cars into designated rows and stalls using flashlights, light batons, or hand signals. Manage distinct zones for general guest parking, overnight camping arrivals, RV check-ins, VIP guests, and accessible (ADA) parking.
• Adapt setups quickly using traffic cones, barricades, and temporary signage to shift flow between high-volume entry hours and mass exits.

Guest Services & Wayfinding Directions:

• Provide an enthusiastic, professional welcome that sets a positive tone for arriving guests. Deliver clear, accurate directions to event spaces, including the Bloodrush Haunted Forest Ticket Booth, the Camp Fear/Nightmare Theater Ticket Booth, Boo Baazar Market, Food/Beverage Trucks, and Restroom/Trash Access.
• Act as a knowledgeable reference point regarding general park rules, campground pathways, and safety boundaries.

Parking Lot Safety & Surveillance:

• Monitor all driving paths, walkways, and parking areas to maintain safe, hazard-free conditions for pedestrians and drivers.
• Keep parking lots free of trash, loose debris, or obstructions that could pose a safety risk.
• Identify and immediately report any suspicious activities, minor property incidents, or medical emergencies to the Parking Supervisor or Campground Management team.

Qualifications & Skills

• Age Requirement: Must be at least 18 years of age (reliable transportation for late-night finishes is required).
• Availability: Must have open availability for evening, weekend, and late-night shifts matching our 5:30 PM to 12:30 AM window. Peak hours occur on Fridays and Saturdays with shifts typically ending by 12:30 AM. Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday Shifts will typically end by 11 PM. There is flexibility with start times.
  
• Communication: Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to give clear, loud verbal directions over engine noise.
  Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, walk, and remain active on your feet for extended shifts (4 to 7+ hours) in dark or low-light outdoor settings.
• Weather Adaptability: Willingness to work outdoors across changing seasonal conditions—ranging from chilly autumn nights to winter freeze. A warming station will be available for staff to utilize during the shift, as needed.
