Job summary

Ilitch Sports + Entertainment is seeking an Accounting Analyst to provide general accounting support, including journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end closing. You will forecast and budget, perform cost variance analyses, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial results for events and operations.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Accounting or Finance, at least two years of related experience, and strong integrity, communication, and analytical skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• Minimum of two years related accounting experience.
• Proven integrity and ethical standards.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

• Intermediate Excel proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Reconcile costs for events and prepare billing requests.
• Collaborate with event accountants to provide cost information.
• Invoice departments for services in operations, sales and marketing.
• Analyze and reconcile general ledger accounts monthly.
• Assist in monthly close process and budget-to-actual variance explanations.
• Contribute to monthly forecasts and annual budget preparation for assigned departments.
• Suggest process improvements and enforce accounting policies.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives across processes.
