Job summary

Bayside Community Church is seeking an Event Director who will lead the vision, planning, and execution of global church events. The role involves coordinating with the Creative Team, planning foyer environments, and budgeting for multiple campuses.

The position reports to the Creative Director, is full-time (exempt, 40+ hours), and focuses on ministry resourcing and event execution across Bayside campuses.

Qualifications

• Experience leading large-scale events and coordinating multiple ministries.
• Budgeting and vendor management experience.
• Ability to design engaging environments for church events across campuses.

Responsibilities

• Leads the vision, planning, and execution of global events, coordinating with Bayside departments to ensure cohesion with leadership's vision.
• Supports other church ministries' events as needed (e.g., conferences, camps, concerts).
• Develops the look and vision of environments for each campus for special weekend services and coordinates foyer experiences.
• Oversees resourcing for value-added initiatives and manages budgets and vendor relations.
• Oversees the Bayside Global Calendar and schedules events to maintain calendar health.
• Manages events budget and resources across campuses and ministries.
• Builds and leads an event volunteer team and manages event contractors.

POSITION STATUS: Exempt

WORK SCHEDULE: Full time, 40+ hours

REPORTS TO: Creative Director

THIS POSITION SERVE: Ministry Resourcing

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Leads the vision, planning, and/or execution of global events. Leads meetings & works alongside other Bayside departments to ensure cohesiveness/ execution of church leaderships’ vision throughout all aspects of the event. Creates, distributes & oversees each event budget for all ministries that play a part. Events include but are not limited to:
• Night to Shine
• Relate Conference
• The Gathering
• Assists in supporting other church ministries' events with whatever help they need. Events include but are not limited to:
• 12 Conference and/or Kids Camp
• Other random events (concerts, etc.)
• Develops the look & vision of environments for each campus for special weekend services in coordination with the vision that comes from the Creative Team. Plans, creates & executes the entire foyer experience at the Lakewood Ranch Campus. Gives vision & budget to all other campuses, as well as supports and resources them to replicate it in their space. Environment Design includes but not limited to:
• Mother’s Day Weekend
• Father’s Day Weekend
• At The Movies Series
• Easter
• Christmas
• Other environment needs(church birthday, special series elements, etc.)
• Oversees the resourcing for value added initiatives. This includes, but not limited to, coke and popcorn for At the Movies, Mother’s and Father’s Day giveaways, etc. Oversight includes budgeting, ordering, campus distribution and managing vendor relations (when necessary).
• Oversees the Bayside Global Calendar. Works alongside other ministries to schedule events in order to ensure margin & health in the church's calendar.
• Manage events budget & resources ministries/ campuses with budget.
• Build & lead an event volunteer team. Manages event contractors.

PERFORMANCE MEASURES:

• Ability to gather vision from church leadership & empower planning teams with the vision.
• Ability to lead global event planning meetings & manage teams throughout the planning process.
• Ability to brainstorm, plan, organize, and execute global church events.
• Ability to brainstorm, design, and create environment design across multiple campuses, including portable locations. As well as share the vision & support campuses.
• Ability to transform the foyers of our broadcast location for two, month long environment experiences.
• Ability to create and manage event budgets across multiple ministries. Ability to create and resource multiple campuses with an environment budget.
• Ability to recruit volunteers and build an events team, as well as manage event contractors.
• Ability to manage the global church event calendar in effort to give margin & health to the entire church staff.
