Responsibilities

• Arrive at work every scheduled day on time in a neat, clean uniform.
• Assist customers courteously, answering any questions.
• Direct incoming customers to available parking spaces.
• Count vehicles on location throughout shifts as needed.
• Write and issue violation warnings to tenants and visitors who violate garage policies.
• Patrol transient and reserved parking levels on foot or in customized motor carts when applicable.
• Assist customers who have forgotten where they parked their vehicle.
• Provide directions and be knowledgeable of the surroundings to inform customers about various city locations.
• Control traffic at entrances and exits as needed.
• Report accidents, suspected violations of company policy, safety hazards, or unusual occurrences to the facility or senior manager.
• Communicate debris, water, oil spills, and related hazards to the facility or senior manager.
• Maintain thorough knowledge of major streets, landmarks, and freeways in the area of the lot.
• Ensure successful customer interactions.
• Count “bank” money at the beginning of each shift to verify the starting total.
• Collect cash and/or coupons and maintain security of cash.
• Make change and issue receipts or tickets for each transaction.
• Verify shift transactions against money on hand and complete cashier shift report.

Qualifications

• Less than a high school education or one month of related experience, training, or an equivalent combination.
• Availability to work second and third shifts and/or weekends, as required.
• Valid state‑issued driver’s license with a current address and acceptable driving record if required to drive company vehicles or for company business.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence and present information in one‑on‑one customer situations.
• Basic mathematical skills: add, subtract, multiply, and divide two‑digit numbers and 10’s and 100’s using units of American money.
• Maintain neat, clean appearance and wear a complete uniform at all times.
• Physical demands: stand, walk, and use hands to handle cash and equipment; work outdoors in varying weather; lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds as occasionally required.

Salary Range

$15.00 per hour
