Job summary

MICHAELS in Bloomington is seeking an Event and Party Host to plan, coordinate, and execute in-store events including children's birthday parties. You will engage guests, assist with crafts and activities, and ensure a fun, safe, and engaging shopping experience.

You’ll support the team with checkout assistance, cataloging event materials, and handling add-ons while maintaining Michaels’ Brand Promises. The role requires energy, excellent people skills, and experience with children’s events.

Deliver friendly customer service by helping customers shop at our store and find what they’re looking for. Ensure all customers receive a fast and friendly checkout experience. Complete operational tasks including truck unload, merchandise duties, and maintaining store recovery standards as needed to deliver our Brand Promises.**Event Coordination*** Plan and coordinate multiple events at once including children’s birthday parties and other craft classes or events.* Engage with clients of all ages, from 4 to 94+, by creating an environment of fun and creativity.* Demonstrate and instruct party participants in the completion of craft projects, perform face painting and other activities.* Facilitate and implement party add-ons such as goody bags, balloons, etc. to company standards.* Communicate events with clients and store team members.* Complete administrative tasks such as answering emails, making phone calls, and completing paperwork as needed.* Adjust plans and events based on client’s feedback and needs.* Create backup or emergency plans to be executed as needed.* Ensure client satisfaction for scheduled events.* Uphold the company’s cleanliness and safety standards.
