Job summary

Lutheran Services Florida (LSF) is seeking a Youth Care Specialist to support youth aged 0-18. This role operates on a 3pm-11pm schedule and is not eligible for remote work. The position involves direct service, intake processing, and daily supervision to ensure safe and supportive shelter operations.

The ideal candidate has an HS diploma and is ready to work in a structured setting, with opportunities to collaborate with the Program Manager and frontline staff to support youth wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Must have good organization, written and verbal skills.
• Dependability, discretion, and good judgement are essential.
• CPR/First Aid certification, crisis intervention training, a valid driver's license, and proof of vehicle insurance required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor daily activities of residents and inform Program Manager of issues.
• Supervise shelter residents and process intakes.
• Ensure 24-hour direct care staff coverage in coordination with the Program Manager.
• Screen clients, conduct intakes, and administer client satisfaction surveys.
• Assist with maintaining program reports and intake coordination.
• Supervise meals, chores, and vehicle upkeep.
• Adhere to agency policies and participate in training.
