Job summary

Minnesota Independence College and Community (MICC) is seeking an Activities Assistant to join the evening and weekend programming team. You will create meaningful experiences for adults with activities, clubs, and community outings, helping participants build skills and independence while ensuring inclusivity.

This role emphasizes supervision, activity leadership, TEACH-based instruction, and safe transportation in Richfield and surrounding areas.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication.
• Ability to drive a 15-passenger van and obtain Minnesota license within 60 days.

Responsibilities

• Supervise participants in evening and weekend recreation and leisure programming to ensure a positive experience.
• Lead activities, clubs, electives, and excursions.
• Provide elective course instruction around the TEACH framework and substitute instructors as needed.
• Educate participants in surrounding areas (Richfield, Bloomington, Edina) including public transportation education.
• Provide transportation and support for scheduled shuttles to grocery stores, YMCA, etc.
• Other duties as assigned.
