Job summary

World Electric in Florida is hiring a Warehouse Associate to join our team. You will perform receiving, put-away, picking, packing, loading and inventory control to support accurate, on-time order fulfillment.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, forklift/cherry picker experience, basic safety knowledge, and proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Internet research. A commitment to safety and reliability is essential.

Qualifications

• Read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Write routine reports and correspondence.
• Add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units to measure using whole numbers, fractions and decimals.
• Compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Responsibilities

• Receiving: read orders to determine items to be moved and distributed.
• Put away: sort and store items according to product code or size.
• Picking: fill requisitions and assemble customer orders.
• Packing: verify picked products and record discrepancies.
• Loading: consolidate freight and load trucks for delivery.
• Routing: manage shipping tickets and communicate oversize loads to carriers.
• Inventory control: perform cycle counts and reconcile variances.
• Pipe yard: receive and bundle pipe/conduit for shipping.
