Job summary

VCA Shoreline Veterinary Referral and Emergency Center in Shelton, CT is hiring a full-time Technician Assistant for 12pm–10pm shifts. Compensation ranges from $18.00 to $19.00 per hour based on skill set and experience.

The role includes restraining animals, administering medications, lab work, and general hospital duties in a fast-paced setting. The ideal candidate has strong communication skills and works well on a team.

Qualifications

• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Restraining animals for doctor and technician.
• Administering medications under supervision of the technician.
• Assisting with obtaining lab samples.
• Running labs on in-house machines; learning to troubleshoot.
• Cleaning kennels and replacing bedding for hospitalized patients.
• Offering food and water to hospitalized patients under supervision.
• Walking hospitalized patients under supervision.
• Assisting with sedated or anesthetized procedures as needed.
