Paw Spa & Retreat at Shenandoah Veterinary Hospital in Martinsburg, WV is seeking a kennel technician to care for hospitalized patients and boarding dogs.

Duties include feeding, medicating, cleaning, assisting with exams, and maintaining accurate medication records; the role requires physical work and reliable teamwork.

We offer flexible hours (1pm-9pm shifts), full-time or part-time, competitive pay, and a range of benefits including paid vacation, sick time, and tuition reimbursement.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of cleaning and disinfecting methods.
• Proper methods of animal restraint.
• Ability to perform moderately heavy physical labor.
• Ability to attend to sick, scared and injured animals sympathetically and patiently.
• Ability to learn to administer medications and to recognize abnormal conditions.
• Understand and carry out oral and written directions.
• Maintain cooperative relationships with those contacted in the course of the job.

Responsibilities

• Care, feeding, medicating and cleaning of hospitalized patients and boarding animals.
• Restocking hospital supplies and keeping records of medications and special foods.
• Assist doctors and staff with exams and animal restraint/handling.
• Clean and sterilize surgical instruments and maintain a tidy work area.
