Job summary

The Center for Youth Services in Rochester, NY is looking for a dedicated Evening Triage Counselor to provide crisis counseling and responsive care for youth aged 12-21. This full-time position involves triage assessments, individual and family counseling, and community outreach.

Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and two years of relevant experience. Strong communication skills and a valid driver's license are essential. Pay rates are set at $23 per hour.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Human Service or related field AND 2 years' experience OR equivalent combination.
• A valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Triage/ assessment and intake
• Assessment of substance use/abuse, problem gambling and other risk factors
• Individual and family crisis counseling/crisis intervention
• Referral readiness and referral
• Youth advocacy
• Case management
• Community outreach and networking with other agencies/ providers
• Parent group facilitation (research/science based curricula) as needed
• Transportation of clients, when required

Overview:

The Evening Triage Counselor is responsible for providing crisis counseling and responsive care for youth ages 12-21. The Counselor completes a comprehensive assessment that identifies immediate needs as well as longer term developmental and/or treatment needs. This position also provides crisis counseling for families, information dissemination and referral services, as needed.

Schedule: Full time Monday- Friday 12p-8pm
