Job summary

Nebraska Medicine is seeking a Sterile Processing Associate for the Integrated Services Center in Omaha, NE. The role focuses on decontaminating, reprocessing and maintaining surgical instruments to support patient safety.

Full-time position on the second shift (2:30 PM - 11:00 PM) with on-the-job training on first shift for 3–4 weeks. Prior sterile processing experience is preferred; tuition assistance and other educational benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 18 years of age.
• High school education or equivalent.
• Written and verbal communication skills required.
• Sterile processing experience or surgical technologist training preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Aptitude for electronics troubleshooting preferred.
• Basic computer skills preferred.
• Knowledge of ~3,000 surgical instruments and sets preferred.
• Experience with Steam, Ethylene Oxide, and Hydrogen Peroxide Gas Plasma sterilization chambers and related equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, clean and sterilize instruments to ensure patient safety.
• Operate various surgical instruments, sterilizers and decontamination equipment.
• Support Perioperative services staff and liaise with surgical specialty services.
• Serve as a liaison to maintain sterile processing workflows.
