Job summary

Sonic Healthcare USA is seeking a dedicated Laboratory Operations professional to join our Chantilly, VA team. You will handle and process specimens, operate automated instruments for aliquotting serum, and follow strict laboratory procedures to ensure accurate test results.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED and the ability to lift up to 30 pounds. Weekend rotation is included as part of a 40-hour work week in a busy laboratory environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to lift 30 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Accurately handle and process specimens.
• Perform accurate use of automated instrumentation for aliquotting serum specimens.
• Follow laboratory procedures for specimen processing.
• Identify proper tubes and containers for each test type.
• Discard old specimens by date received.
• Ensure quality of departmental resources and laboratory services.
• Follow safety, infection control, and OSHA Bloodborne Pathogen guidelines.
• Participate in departmental safety and quality assurance programs.
• Utilize appropriate supplies with minimal waste.
• Weekend rotation.
