Job summary

Masonicare Behavioral Health Hospital in Wallingford, CT seeks an experienced RN Behavioral Health Nurse for the Evening shift (32 hours per week, every other weekend).

You will provide professional nursing care to emotionally disturbed and/or mentally ill patients, coordinate care with the treatment team, administer medications, monitor vital signs, and maintain accurate documentation while upholding patient confidentiality and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of accredited school of nursing. BSN Preferred.
• Experience: Minimum one year clinical experience, preferably in an acute and/or Behavioral Health capacity.
• Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Current RN license in the State of Connecticut, in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Assumes professional responsibility for a group of residents/patients including medication/treatment administration and supervision of nursing staff.
• Conducts intake assessments and ongoing nursing evaluations to plan care.
• Plans and provides nursing care for patients and communicates with the interdisciplinary team to tailor treatment.
• Administers and notes reactions to psychotropic drugs and coordinates medical attention as needed.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and accurate medical records; performs administrative duties as required.
• Supervises CNAs & LPNs to ensure adherence to the plan of care and documentation.
