Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's/BS in Medical Technology or MT program; associates accepted.
• Active ASCP certification or eligible.
• Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform all clinical testing in the assigned department.
• Record and report test results accurately and promptly.
• Perform quality control testing following established guidelines.
• Maintain a high level of quality assurance.
• Practice established safety procedures, including Universal Precautions and proper use of safety equipment.
• Able to recognize a problem by following prescribed strategies and make necessary corrections.
• When no applicable criteria exist, consult with supervisor/manager; in absence of supervisor, make final decision.
• Coordinate and evaluate new reagents, procedures and equipment as requested by supervisor/manager.
• Perform routine scheduled and specialized maintenance of laboratory equipment.
