Job summary

Second Nature Brands LLC is seeking a Maintenance Technician for our Kar’s Nuts facility in Madison Heights, MI. You will maintain, troubleshoot and repair production equipment, ensuring safety and food quality standards are met in a high-demand food manufacturing environment.

The role offers a Monday–Friday schedule, 2:50pm–11:00pm with overtime as needed, plus a starting rate of $26/hour plus a $1 shift premium. Full benefits and a strong growth culture support your career development.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification preferred.
• 2+ years maintenance experience in a food manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Must read and write in English proficiently.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly.
• Stand for 8–10 hours.
• Able to climb ladders, work at heights and in confined spaces.
• Wear PPE provided by the company.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, inspections and repairs on production equipment, packaging machinery, conveyors, boilers, refrigeration systems and other facility infrastructure.
• Conduct preventive and predictive maintenance to ensure equipment reliability.
• Respond to emergency breakdowns and provide timely resolutions to maintain production efficiency.
• Follow and enforce safety protocols including lockout/tagout.
• Work with production and quality teams to ensure equipment complies with SQF, FDA and OSHA requirements.
• Maintain records of maintenance activities, parts inventory and equipment performance.
• Assist in equipment installation, modifications and continuous improvement projects.
• Adhere to GMP and safety policies.
• Maintain clean and safe work area.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
