Job summary

Advanced Health Care of Albuquerque is seeking a dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to provide direct patient care, assist with activities of daily living, and support the recovery journey in a compassionate, dignified setting.

You will help with bathing, grooming, mobility, and meal assistance, monitor vitals, document care, and collaborate with nurses to ensure safe, patient-centered care on weekend/evening shifts.

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification in New Mexico.
• CPR certification.
• Prior experience in a skilled nursing facility or similar medical setting preferred.
• Ability to build rapport with residents with empathy.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, grooming, dressing, mobility).
• Monitor vital signs and input/output as directed.
• Assist with meals, toileting, and transfers using gait belts or lifts.
• Maintain a clean, safe, organized patient environment.
• Respond promptly to call lights and treat residents with dignity and kindness.
• Support admissions, discharges, and orientation when needed.
• Document care accurately and communicate with nurses and staff.

As a CNA you will play a vital role in providing direct care and support to our residents, assisting with activities of daily living, promoting their independence, and ensuring their comfort and well-being.

Schedule

Full-Time, Weekends, Evening 8 Hours, 2pm to 10pm

Your Role

• As a CNA, you’ll be a vital part of our clinical team, assisting patients with their daily needs and supporting their recovery journey. Responsibilities include:
• Helping patients with daily living activities such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and mobility
• Monitoring vital signs and intake/output as directed
• Assisting with meals, toileting, and patient transfers using gait belts or mechanical lifts
• Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized patient environment
• Answering call lights promptly and treating all patients with dignity, respect, and kindness
• Supporting admissions, discharges, and patient orientation when needed
• Documenting care accurately and communicating effectively with nurses and staff

Requirements

• Current certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) in New Mexico.

• Strong clinical skills in assessment, treatment planning and intervention implementation.

Physical Requirements

• Work performed in a medical setting due to the need to care for residents in person.
• Must be able to sit, stand, bend, reach, talk, hear, stoop, kneel, crouch, stretch, and twist.
• Stamina to stand and move about the facility to perform frequent rounds and respond to emergent situations as needed.
• Emotional resilience and ability to cope with the physical and emotional demands of working with residents who may have complex healthcare needs.
• Capability to lift and transfer residents safely, with proper body mechanics and assistance as needed.
• Required vision includes close, vision, distance, peripheral, and the ability to adjust focus.
• Maintain regular attendance and timeliness as set forth within the work schedule designated by the department supervisor/manager.
• The job requires accepting criticism and dealing calmly and effectively with high-stress situations.
• The ability to use your abdominal and lower back muscles to support part of the body repeatedly or continuously over time without "giving out" or fatiguing.
• The ability to keep your hand and arm steady while moving your arm or while holding your arm and hand in one position.
• The ability to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects.
