Job summary

Catholic Charities is hiring a Security Guard to protect participants, staff, and visitors at our Rochester, NY location. Under supervision, you will help maintain a trauma-informed environment and ensure safety across program areas.

The role requires at least two years of guard experience, NYS Security Guard Registration, and an Associate degree preferred. Work hours are Sun-Thurs, 2pm-10:30pm, with a competitive starting wage of $19 per hour.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate degree preferred.
• Credentials: NY State Security Guard Registration required.
• Experience: Minimum of two years as a security guard.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety and security standards and complete incident reports as required.
• Patrols assigned area to ensure protection of clients, visitors, property and equipment.
• Controls and monitors access ingress and egress out of assigned site and monitors burglar and fire alarm systems as required.
• Manages program parking location, alerting to unauthorized use and working with towing contract agencies.
• Examines doors, windows, and gates to ensure security; uses agency keys to open and close buildings.
• Informs and warns violators of rule infractions and monitors for suspicious activities.
