Job summary

Fayetteville Public Schools is seeking an Evening Custodial Substitute to perform cleaning tasks across school facilities. Responsibilities include cleaning restrooms, classrooms, and hallways; moving furniture; and assisting with equipment and safety tasks.

The position requires reliability, basic math, and ability to follow procedures. Starting immediately, you may be called to support various buildings with a flexible schedule.

Qualifications

• Mental alertness and adaptability to office and field area work routines.
• Ability to read and understand documents such as policy manuals, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Basic mathematical skills for handling numbers and measurements.

Responsibilities

• Clean restrooms including stools, urinals, and fixtures; refill supplies and mop floors nightly.
• Clean classrooms and staff work areas; dust mop, vacuum, and dust furniture nightly.
• Maintain hallways by cleaning surfaces; use autoscrubber and mop as needed.
• Assist in moving furniture and completing daily cleaning tasks under supervision.
• Lock entrances, turn off lights, and maintain a flexible schedule for events.
• Assist in snow/ice removal and annual floor stripping/waxing tasks.
