Job summary

Seward Public Schools, Seward Middle School, is seeking a Part-Time Custodian for 4 hours per day, 6:00pm–10:00pm, Monday through Friday. The role involves cleaning and setting up activities for school events, with a starting wage of $18.90 per hour (negotiable with experience).

Reports to the Maintenance Supervisor; benefits include health and life insurance, disability coverage, paid vacation, holidays, and sick leave.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent and at least 6 months of related experience.
• Ability to read, understand, follow and enforce safety procedures.
• Ability to lift and manipulate heavy objects.
• Some physical activity; lifting over 50 lbs may be required.

Responsibilities

• Scheduled cleaning of classrooms, hallways, and restrooms.
• Picks up and disposes of litter.
• Cleans floors and other common areas in the school.
• Helps to set up activities.
• Picks up trash on a regular schedule, and disposes of it.
• Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes safety and environmental practices.
• Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
