Qualifications

• Be able to read and interpret basic cleaning supplies directions and/or instructions.
• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.
• Must be able to use an eight-foot ladder to do light custodial tasks.

Responsibilities

• Keep building and premises including sidewalks, driveways and play areas neat and clean at all times.
• Shovel and/or plow sidewalks, driveways, parking areas and steps as appropriate.
• Check daily to ensure that all exit doors are locked and all panic bolts are working properly during the hours of building occupancy.
• Sweep classrooms and dust furniture daily.
• Clean corridors after school each day and during the day when their condition requires it.
• Scrub and disinfect toilets, floors, and clean all sanitary fixtures and drinking fountains daily.
• Wash all windows on both the inside and outside.
• Keep the grounds free from rubbish.
• Keep all floors in a clean and attractive condition and in a good state of preservation.
• Clean all whiteboards/chalkboards daily.
• Secure all windows and doors within areas of assigned responsibility.
• Maintain confidential nature of all school related matters.
• Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Maintenance and Custodial and Principal.
• Check with day custodian for an update on projects or issues needing attention.
• Disinfect all water fountains.
