Qualifications

• Experience in custodial industry or ability to be trained.
• Ability to communicate with others.
• Knowledge of housekeeping practices, supplies, materials, equipment, and custodial duties.
• Knowledge of minor equipment repairs.
• Knowledge of routine maintenance.
• Bending, lifting to 70 lbs., climbing, standing for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily custodial tasks as assigned and approved.
• Maintain a safe environment conducive to learning.
• Report custodial supply needs to head custodian.
• Ensure school cleanliness meets District standards.
• Ensure proper heating/ventilation; report major problems.
• Assist in safeguarding school property.
• Be available to cover for the Head Day Custodian.
• Assist in snow removal per district standards.
• Train new staff and co-workers.
• Complete minor repairs as time permits.
• Communicate clearly by verbal and written methods.
• Use email and data entry in the work order system.
• Operate cleaning agents, vacuums, yard equipment, and floor care machines.
