Job summary

Crete Public Schools is seeking an Evening Custodian for Crete Middle School in Crete, Nebraska. The position runs 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM on a 260‑day schedule, with starting pay at $18.07 per hour and advancement based on related experience.

This is a full-time evening role reporting to the Head Custodian. Responsibilities include cleaning, maintenance, event setup, restroom upkeep, trash removal, and floor care, along with reporting repairs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Custodial experience preferred
• Work well with co-workers and around children
• First aid knowledge preferred
• Successful completion of background check

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain the school building and grounds; set up equipment for events; assist staff with work requests.
• Service, clean, and supply restrooms; gather and empty trash; clean floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming.
• Follow chemical safety procedures; prepare cleaning solutions; strip and finish floors; clean windows and carpets.
• Set up decorations and furniture for events; move heavy objects; report major repairs as needed.
• Assist with building operations and maintain professional relationships with staff and administration.
