Job summary

RSU 57 Massabesic School District is seeking a Custodian for the Line School on 2nd shift to maintain cleanliness and safety across the facility. Responsibilities include cleaning classrooms, restrooms, hallways, and common areas, plus general upkeep and minor maintenance tasks.

The role requires following written and verbal instructions, cooperating with staff, and maintaining a positive attitude. The work year is year-round with physical duties such as lifting and walking as part of daily

Qualifications

High School education or equivalent.
Ability to clean equipment and machines.
Some knowledge of use and handling of cleaning chemicals.
Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
Ability to work cooperatively with supervisors and coworkers.
Maintain a generally positive attitude.

Responsibilities

Cleans assigned areas of the facility, including classrooms, hallways, rest rooms, and common areas.
Performs general maintenance tasks related to the upkeep and operation of the facility.
Ensures doors are secured and building is safe during shifts.
Reports maintenance concerns to Head/Lead Custodian.
Participates in snow removal, including shoveling and applying sand/salt.
During summer, conducts total cleaning and maintenance of the building.
Follows district policies and procedures.
