Job summary

Colonial School District in Southern Delaware seeks a dedicated full-time Custodian to maintain clean, safe, and healthy school facilities for students and staff. The shift runs Monday to Friday, 3:30pm–11:30pm, with reporting to the Building Chief.

This is a 12-month, nonexempt position aimed at supporting a high‑quality learning environment. The role involves cleaning, minor repairs, cafeteria area duties, and snow removal assistance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
• Must be flexible for shift/schedule changes.
• Lift up to 50 pounds and work in extreme temperatures.
• Able to read, write and communicate professionally.
• Neat and clean appearance and reliable attendance.
• Valid driver's license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Clean floors, walls, bathrooms, classrooms, offices and common areas.
• Maintain and do minor repairs of furniture.
• Clean cafeteria area, kitchen floors and related surfaces.
• Assist in snow removal and other building duties as needed.
• Regular attendance is an essential duty.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
