Job summary

Texas Health Fort Worth is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Medical PCU. The role is full-time, offering 36 hours weekly with 3-12 hour shifts from 7:00 pm to 7:00 am.

The department features a 28-bed PCU, 3:1 patient-to-nurse ratio, and Magnet designation. Responsibilities include delivering nursing care using the Nursing Process, assessing and planning patient care, and ensuring safe, continuous care across shifts and transfers.

Qualifications

• Nursing Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred.
• Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire.
• BCLS – prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly.
• ACLS – within 90 days of hire required.
• CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention Training – within 90 days of hire.
• 1-year experience as a registered nurse or completion of an RN residency program required.
• PCU experience preferred – will consider Tele and Med/Surg experience.

Responsibilities

• Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process.
• Assesses the patient, plans the care, intervenes as appropriate.
• Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions and ensures age-specific safety.
• Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift and during transfers.
