Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Respiratory Equipment Technician for its New Brunswick campus. This part-time, day shift role (20 hours/week) involves managing oxygen cylinders, performing daily rounds, and maintaining records in a busy Respiratory Care department.

The position requires a High School Diploma with preferred healthcare experience (EMT or respiratory student). The hospital offers comprehensive benefits and a supportive work environment in New Jersey.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Previous healthcare related experience preferred (EMT, respiratory student).

Responsibilities

• Attends all mandatory in-services.
• Maintain cylinder rooms neat and orderly.
• Completes all annual competencies by assigned due date.
• Informs Department Leadership of any issues or problems.
• Complete and maintain daily records of all oxygen cylinder exchanges.
• Makes daily rounds to exchange oxygen and other cylinders in patient care areas.
• Maintain DOHSS, CMS, TJC regulations regarding the storage of oxygen and other compressed gas cylinders.
• Assist Department Leadership with inventory, ordering and maintaining cylinders and related equipment and supplies for the Respiratory Therapy Department.
• Assist with inspection preparation and special projects as assigned.
