Job summary

Stars Behavioral Health Group is seeking a Recovery Counselor in Los Angeles, CA to provide direct care in a 16-bed adult behavioral health setting. The role supports safe, therapeutic client interactions, and includes driving clients when required, with evening hours Tue-Sat.

Qualifications

• Requires High School Diploma or equivalent and 1 year full-time equivalent experience with persons with mental disabilities, or 20 hours on-the-job training.
• Nurse’s Assistant Certification preferred.
• Must possess a valid CA driver’s license and maintain a driving record meeting company policy.
• Valid California Class “B” Driver’s License preferred.
• SERV Safe Food Handler Certification or obtained within 90 days of employment.
• First Aid certification from qualified agencies within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care to meet physical and psychosocial needs of clients.
• Maintain safety, cleanliness, and a therapeutic environment in the center.
• Assist with client laundry, household tasks, and driving clients as needed.
• Monitor milieu, screen incoming clients/visitors for contraband, and respond to emergencies.
