Job summary

Standex International in Wisconsin is seeking a Grinder/Finisher to finish metal components to precise specifications using grinding and polishing tools and machinery. You will ensure surfaces are smooth, defect-free, and ready for further processing or final assembly, under the supervision of the Manufacturing Manager.

The position includes a 3:30 PM–12:00 AM shift (training on first shift with shift differential).

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 1 year related experience or equivalent.
• Manual dexterity to operate grinding tools and equipment.
• Forklift experience preferred.
• Reliable transportation.
• Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to multi-task and pay close attention to details.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for extended periods.
• Comfortable working in environments with noise, heat, or dust.

Responsibilities

• Finish metal components to precise specifications using grinding and polishing tools and machinery.
• Operate grinding tools, fixtures, and robotic cells as required.
• Inspect finished workpieces to confirm conformance using gauges and micrometers.
• Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and specifications for setup and finish dimensions.
• Document actions by completing production and quality logs as needed.
• Maintain safety, quality, and housekeeping standards and participate in SQDC initiatives.
