Job summary

University of Missouri seeks a skilled MTS Pipefitter - SSD to install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems and related equipment on the Columbia campus. Responsibilities include soldering, testing, and operating safety-compliant procedures in a busy facilities environment.

The role requires four years of trade experience, blueprint reading, and the ability to lift heavy objects, climb, and use a variety of plumbing tools. A Missouri driver’s license may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Four years of work experience and training in the trade, may include apprenticeship or vocational training.
• Ability to read blueprints, plans, drawings, and plumbing diagrams.
• Skill in maintenance and use of tools, equipment and materials of the trade.
• Daily tasks include lifting, moving heavy objects, climbing and using trades tools.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair, and maintain water, air, vacuum, gas, hot water, and chemical distribution lines and systems.
• Inspect, solder, glue, thread joints; install and maintain fixtures and related components.
• Inspect safety requirements and operate equipment safely; maintain tools and record-keeping.
• May operate backhoe and other construction equipment; may prepare cost estimates and material orders.
• Valid Missouri driver’s license required or may be required.
