Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a part-time phlebotomist to support the Navicent Health Medical Center - Lab. Responsibilities include blood collection, specimen labeling, and timely delivery to the laboratory.

You will also provide phone support to patient care areas and maintain LIS proficiency. The role requires phlebotomy certification or 6 months relevant experience, a high school diploma or GED, and a Georgia driver's license.

Qualifications

• Must have high school or GED and completion of a phlebotomy training course or at least 6 months phlebotomy experience in a hospital or patient care setting.
• Certification as a phlebotomist and valid Georgia driver's license required.
• Ability to handle blood collection procedures and maintain patient safety and specimen integrity.

Responsibilities

• Collects blood via venipuncture or capillary methods and processes specimens accurately.
• Identify patients and document ID against orders; select proper collection containers.
• Deliver specimens promptly to the lab and provide courteous phone support to care areas.
• Maintain competency with hospital information systems and assist with training new staff.
