Job summary

Qualifications

• Active California Pharmacy Technician license required.
• 1 year of Pharmacy Technician or comparable work experience.
• Experience in Long-Term Care and Skilled Nursing settings preferred.
• Excellent organizational, multitasking and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Above-average typing skills.
• Able to read and interpret prescription terminology and medications.
• Able to work in a close team environment and meet production/quality standards.
• Ability to identify generics and understand routine prescription symbols.
• Ability to calculate dosage and days' supply.

Responsibilities

• Data entry, organize deliveries and manage delivery areas.
• Insurance eligibility checks, fix billing errors and process payments.
• Process prescriptions and related customer information; prepare orders.
• Schedule patient refills and assist with inventory and scheduling.
• Fill and package medications; re-order inventory and type prescriptions.
• Respond to inquiries in person and by phone.
• File prescriptions and records as needed.
• Maintain HIPAA confidentiality and privacy.
