Qualifications

• Pharmacy degree from an ACPE approved college of pharmacy.
• Licensed, or eligible for licensure, pharmacist in Iowa. Must be licensed within 3 months of hire.
• BLS certification within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Delivers patient-focused, outcome oriented pharmaceutical care to patients of all ages.
• Reviews and interprets physician orders to assure appropriate drug therapy.
• Oversees medication preparation and delivery to care areas in a timely manner.
• Collaborates with healthcare team to optimize pharmacotherapy outcomes.
• Supervises technicians, interns, and students during shifts.
• Maintains quality and safety through QA checks and documentation.
• Answers drug information questions and educates staff and patients.
• Participates in orientation and training of staff and students.
• Adheres to laws, policies, and guidelines; ensures professional practice.
