Job summary

Stony Brook Medicine is hiring a Hospital Attendant- Patient Transporter for the Evening shift (3:00 PM - 11:30 PM). The role involves moving patients and supplies across the hospital, responding to dispatch requests, and maintaining equipment in good order.

The candidate should perform moderate to heavy physical labor, have strong interpersonal and communication skills, and ideally possess a High School Diploma with prior hospital experience.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform medium to heavy physical labor.
• Working knowledge of hospital environment preferred.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize and respond to dispatches quickly.

Responsibilities

• Transport patients, equipment, and supplies throughout the hospital in a timely, courteous manner.
• Locate equipment during retrieval to replenish inventory.
• Transport deceased patients to the hospital morgue as required.
• Wash and clean hospital equipment in designated areas.
• Monitor phone dispatches and log calls for Transport Services.
• Complete daily runs for delivery of reports, supplies, and Medical Records.
