Job summary

Federal Express Corporation is seeking a non-driving package handler in Chicago to move and load packages, documents, and supplies safely and efficiently. You will use scan and load methods to ensure timely handling and may assist with heavier items as needed.

This role requires the ability to lift 50 lbs ground to chest level, stand and walk during shifts, and work in various weather conditions. Training is provided, and shifts include evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Able to lift 50 lbs from ground to chest level and maneuver packages above 50 lbs using equipment or assistance.
• Able to walk and stand for designated work hours.
• Able to bend and squat for designated work hours.
• Able to maneuver packages above shoulder level and in enclosed spaces.
• Able to work in all weather conditions if required at the work location.
• Able to climb stairs and ladders if required at the work location.
• Able to successfully complete training and re-currency training.
• Ability to communicate timely and effectively in a noisy operations environment.

Responsibilities

• Provides movement of packages, documents, dangerous goods and/or supply support in a timely, safe and efficient manner through scan/load methods.
• This is a non-driving position (public roadways).
• Performs other duties as assigned.
