Job summary

Sevita's NeuroRestorative in Bloomington is seeking a Life Skills Trainer/Caregiver to support individuals with brain, spinal cord and medically complex needs in residential and community settings. Evening and overnight shifts are available, with opportunities to make a meaningful difference daily.

You will provide training, assist with daily activities, and collaborate with clinical staff to implement therapeutic plans.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 6 months to 1 year of experience in human services.
• Valid Driver's License from state of residence.
• Must be minimum of 21 years of age.
• Successful clearance of background checks.
• Caring attitude with a dedication to assisting others.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and effective communication skills.
• A reliable, responsible attitude and a compassionate approach.
• A commitment to quality in everything you do.

Responsibilities

• Provide training, assistance and supervision to individuals receiving care in living skills and therapeutic recreation in residential and community settings.
• Assist with daily activities such as meal preparation, personal hygiene, shopping, cleaning, and medication administration.
• Facilitate relationships between employers and individuals served, and support community involvement by accompanying them on outings or providing transportation to work or activities.
• Work closely with clinical staff to support therapeutic and behavioral plans.
