Job summary

MISTRAS Group in Lafayette, LA is hiring an Operating Room Housekeeper for the 3:00 PM – 10:00 PM shift to maintain a clean, sterile, and surgery-ready environment for patients and staff.

You will work alongside nurses and surgical teams to disinfect rooms, turnover between procedures, restock supplies, and ensure compliance with infection control standards. Prior healthcare housekeeping is preferred, and you must pass background and drug screening.

Qualifications

• Previous healthcare housekeeping experience preferred.
• Reliable and dependable with ability to work independently.
• Must be able to stand, walk, bend, lift and perform physical cleaning duties.

Responsibilities

• Clean and disinfect operating rooms between surgical procedures.
• Perform operating room turnovers quickly and efficiently.
• Complete terminal cleaning of operating rooms and surgical areas.
• Restock supplies and prepare rooms for upcoming surgeries.
• Dispose of trash, biohazard waste, and soiled linens according to safety guidelines.
• Clean floors, walls, equipment, and other designated surfaces.
• Work closely with nurses and surgical staff to keep procedures running on schedule.
• Follow infection control, OSHA, and hospital safety standards.
