Job summary

Longwood Gardens is seeking a full-time Electrician to install, repair, and maintain electrical systems across the site, while adhering to safety regulations. Responsibilities include maintenance of power distribution, lighting, fountain controls, fire alarm systems, and site communications.

The role requires an apprenticeship or 4 years of field experience, a valid driver's license, and the ability to work a rotating on-call schedule; electrical license is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Completed apprenticeship program or 4 years of demonstrated field experience.
• Knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70E, and OSHA 1910S Safety Standards.
• Ability to read P&ID, construction as-built drawings, and building prints.
• Strong decision-making, communication, analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

• Providing hands-on technical expertise for day-to-day operations and maintenance of electrical equipment and controls.
• Planning, organizing, ordering materials, and prioritizing work orders.
• Performing day-to-day electrical maintenance, system checks, and repairs of site power distribution, lighting, fountain controls, fire alarm, and site radio.
• Performing administrative tasks related to electrical work orders.
• Responding to after-hours call-ins for emergency work and rotating shifts.
• Providing support for operational and emergency needs including snow removal.
