Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Nursing Assistant II for Newark Beth Israel Medical Center in Newark, NJ. The role supports the Nursing Float Pool, providing basic patient care under RN direction during the Evening shift, with part-time hours and orientation required.

The position requires BLS certification, English proficiency, and good communication and math skills. Experience as a Nursing Assistant or completed related RN clinical coursework is preferred.

Qualifications

• BLS Certification through American Heart Association
• Ability to read, write, and speak English
• Effective communication skills and basic math skills
• Successful completion of all Orientation Programs

Responsibilities

• Participates in assessment of patient needs and communication with the health care team
• Participates in staff, patient and/or family education to a degree consistent with personal knowledge base
• Participates in unit Quality Improvement activities
• Uses an understanding of the principles of growth and development to assess each patient’s age specific needs and provide age specific treatment and care
