Job summary

WQAD-TV Davenport seeks a creative, enterprising anchor who is an excellent on-camera communicator to serve our audience and community. The journalist will handle accountability reporting, breaking news, and distinctive storytelling while collaborating with producers to craft engaging newscasts.

Ideal candidates bring 5–7 years of anchoring/reporting experience, a journalism-focused degree, and strong writing and presentation skills.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of news anchor or reporting experience.
• Degree in Journalism or Communications preferred.
• Excellent writing and presentation skills required.

Responsibilities

• Use editorial judgment to determine content of newscasts.
• Collaborate with producers to create fast-paced, innovative newscasts.
• Use social media to identify and highlight important stories.
• Write and post daily on all digital platforms including social media.
• Develop and shoot/edit news stories for TV and digital delivery.
• Create original content through social listening and independent sources.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or executive producer.
• Present professional journalism with accuracy, credibility, and impact.
