Job summary

WNDU, part of Gray Media, is seeking an experienced evening news anchor to deliver breaking and hard news across TV and digital platforms. The ideal candidate will lead the newsroom, mentor junior journalists, and be social-media and streaming native.

Responsibilities include anchoring, developing and reporting stories, editing segments, and engaging with viewers online. A strong news judgment and a clean driving record are essential.

Qualifications

• Three years of experience as a newscast anchor preferred.
• Strong hard news reporting skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to ad lib during breaking news.
• Valid U.S. driver's license with a good, clean driving record/MVR.
• Four-year college degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Anchor newscasts, including streaming, as needed.
• Develop and report news stories for all platforms.
• Participate in daily editorial decisions and long-term strategic newscast initiatives.
• Produce elements of newscasts.
• Work on special projects, as assigned.
• Interact with viewers and users on social media sites.
