Job summary

The Behavioral Wellness Center at Girard in Philadelphia, PA is seeking a dedicated Mental Health Technician (MHT) for the full-time evening shift. This role supports patients in psychiatric and behavioral health units, providing direct care, observation, and recovery assistance in a fully onsite setting.

Starting pay is $20.25 per hour plus eligible shift differential, with a mandatory 5-day orientation before starting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; coursework in psychology or related field preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in behavioral health or related field required.
• CPR certification required (hands-on course); CPI preferred or can be completed on hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care, observation, and recovery support for patients in behavioral health units.
• Monitor patient mood and condition; report significant changes promptly.
• Document observations and interventions in the EHR.
• Lead or assist in therapeutic and psychoeducational groups.
• Assist with safety rounds, crisis intervention, and de-escalation as needed.
• Support ADLs such as meals, hygiene, and mobility; maintain a safe environment.
