Job summary

Nationwide Children's Hospital in North Carolina seeks an Education Specialist to support Behavioral Health nursing education in the evenings. You will collaborate with RN Educators, mentor staff and learners, and assist with onboarding processes.

Requires a Bachelor's in Psychology, Social Work, Education, or related field, plus three years in mental health/education. BLS, TCI, and First Aid certifications are required. On-site role with 40 hours per week and evening shift differential.

Qualifications

• Three years of mental health, education, or related experience.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with hospital staff.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with senior leaders and system resources to plan and direct education requirements.
• Participates in meetings affecting program planning and implementation.
• Develops and oversees new hire orientation; monitors onboarding progress and safety standards.
• Evaluates onboarding to ensure compliance and recommends changes to services/materials.
• Acts as educational resource for assigned staff; communicates policy changes and educational opportunities.
• Delivers classroom style education, huddles, or other methods for learners.
• Oversees competency assessments and skills training related to milieu safety and Joint Commission regulations.
