Job summary

Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta is seeking a Regular shift Medical Laboratory Technician for an evening schedule. The role performs quality lab testing, maintains lean processes, and supports patient care through accurate results.

You will work with a team in a hospital laboratory, handling specimen processing, quality control, and instrument maintenance while ensuring safety and compliance in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Three years of experience in a high-complexity laboratory.
• Minimum of 2 years previous experience in clinical laboratory.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Processes orders and specimens, performs accurate testing procedures and reports results per SOPs.
• Follows hospital and departmental policies, including safety and compliance.
• Uses independent judgment to solve non-routine problems.
• Operates instruments with protocols and performs maintenance.
• Correlates results with patient age/condition and addresses deviations.
• Performs quality control data analysis and maintains accuracy.
• Attends shift meetings and departmental meetings.
• Educates and trains new personnel and students.
• Maintains current professional skills per competency policy.
• Promotes lean culture in daily duties.
