Job summary

Diamond Medical Laboratories in Owings Mills, MD is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or Medical Technologist (MT) for evening testing hours (10am-6pm) with rotating weekends/holidays. The ideal candidate has a related science bachelor's or accredited MT/MLT program, at least three years of MLT experience, and national technologist

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related science field or completion of an accredited MT/MLT program.
• Minimum three years of experience as an MLT, or an education/experience combination.
• National certification at technologist level (ASCP preferred).
• Ability to meet federal and state requirements for moderate complexity testing.
• Military medical laboratory training may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Responsibilities

• Receive and process specimens according to laboratory protocols.
• Perform clinical laboratory tests across sections following standardized methods.
• Maintain specimen integrity by adhering to aseptic techniques and guidelines.
• Conduct quality control checks, preventive maintenance, and troubleshoot equipment.
• Analyze test results for accuracy and compliance with critical limits.
• Communicate critical results to nursing staff and healthcare providers promptly.
• Document and record all test data accurately.
• Adhere to laboratory safety protocols and regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with team to ensure smooth lab operations during evening hours.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
