Job summary

LaTour Hotels & Resorts, Inc. is seeking an Evening Maintenance Technician I at Peppertree Ocean Club, North Myrtle Beach, SC. You will maintain units, buildings and common areas, respond to guest needs, and perform preventative maintenance with a focus on safety and efficiency.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, 2-4 years of maintenance experience, and EPA/CPO certification or willingness to obtain. Must be able to work evenings and weekends as needed.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Evening Maintenance Technician I is responsible for maintaining the appearance and functionality of all units, buildings, and common areas throughout the property. This position provides general maintenance, responds to guest needs, and performs preventative maintenance projects.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Performs general maintenance in guest units, buildings, pools, and common areas as assigned.
  • Will have a working knowledge of the use of hand tools and power tools.
  • Will have a working knowledge for repairing and troubleshooting carpentry, plumbing, electric, and HVAC issues.
  • Repairs and installs appliances as needed with minimal supervision.
  • Performs maintenance to plumbing such as pipes, drains, faucets, disposals, showers, tubs, etc.
  • Prevents and troubleshoots electrical issues on equipment, fixtures, outlets and switches.
  • Inspects and performs preventative maintenance in units and resort areas to minimize a negative guest experience.
  • Reports, responds to, and repairs safety issues in guest units, buildings, pools, common areas, and equipment.
  • Completes all daily assignments in a timely manner.
  • Prioritizes work orders against daily assignments, keeping in constant contact with the department and/or the front desk to update jobs completed.
  • Maintains the appearance of the property by picking trash and debris, responding and mopping up spills, cleaning exterior fixtures, etc. on a daily basis.
OTHER FUNCTIONS
  • Clean and maintain all pools and pool decks at the resort.
  • Ensure that all pools are operating properly and that the water condition is correctly balanced at all times.
  • Assist in other areas of maintenance such as grounds or in painting projects.
  • Perform regular power washing of exterior areas of assigned grounds, buildings, or common areas.
  • Prepare and secure property for advancing and predictable weather occurrences such as storms and hurricanes.
  • Maintain company vehicles, ensuring that they are operating properly and that routine maintenance is performed as needed.
  • Assist guests with special needs to ensure a positive vacation experience.
  • Be responsible for collecting and disposing of the property’s trash.
Education/Credentials
  • This position requires a high school diploma or GED
  • CPO and EPA Certification (or willing to obtain)
Experience
  • This position requires 2-4 years prior experience in a general maintenance position or equivalent technical training.
